A native of Maryland, Jonathan Zepp is freelance bassoonist and teacher in the greater Washington D.C. Area. A regular with the Washington Concert Opera and Wolf Trap Opera Orchestra, he has performed with the National Philharmonic, The Annapolis Symphony, the American Pops Orchestra, the Apollo Orchestra, the Fairfax Symphony Orchestra, the Two Rivers Chamber Orchestra, and many others. He holds an Artist’s Certificate from the University of Missouri – Kansas City Conservatory, a Master’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland at College Park, studying under Marita Abner, Kristin Wolfe Jensen, Sue Heineman, and MaryLee Young. Jonathan’s teaching studio includes students aged from middle school through adults and nearly every skill level.
Outside of music, Jonathan enjoys a slew of hobbies including building and repairing electronic equipment, computer and board gaming, saltwater fish and invertebrate larval rearing, microscopy and multispectral photography, and many others. He holds a NAUI dive certification and an Amateur Extra class Ham radio license under the callsign W3BSN.
