-Pyramid Computer
The Pyramid Computer project, or Project Egypt, was a little creation I decided to make over the summer of 2005. A project I expected to be pretty simple and cheap, build a wooden case in the shape of a pyramid to hold an old pentium 200 based computer, then run Linux on it. This goal was technically completed, I built the case and all its mountings (though it took longer than I expected) and installed Vector Linux 4 on it.... It worked fairly well.
I am no carpenter, and there were parts of the project which proved to be very difficult (like finding spaces to mount the drives) and the whole thing didn't come out quite perfect, but it came out well enough. Sadly, at the end of the summer I built my current desktop and lost interest in the project. I was in the midst of painting it to look like a pyramid, the entire case has since gotten a dark gray undercoat and has been textured like big blocks.
Aside from simple spraypainting and assembly, one thing stands in my way of completing this.... the buttons on the front. From early on I realized this would be a problem to make.... and it still will be. Maybe this summer I will give this project the little bit of work it needs and finish it; it would at least make a good show piece.
